We're over half way to meet our little girl! We learned a couple new things this week. Before I go into the results of the ultrasound, here's some more images of our little girl ... This ultrasound revealed that we had marginal placenta previa, versus the complete placenta previa that we had 8 weeks ago. But what does that mean? Well, the placenta was no longer covering the cervix. This ultrasound showed that the edge of the placenta was 0.5 cm away from the cervix, and marginal is technically up to 2.0 cm distance from the cervix. We were told the likelihood of it moving far enough away for a vaginal birth was really low, but possible. We decided not to hold our breath for a vaginal birth and I continued researching into cesarean section deliveries.
My lifestyle with a low lying placenta is limiting, I can't pick up anything over 20 pounds (there goes independently shopping for dog food!), no ladders, limited squatting and bending over. But whatever we had to do to keep our little girl safe and inside growing, I was more than happy to comply. Here's a photo of me at 28 weeks with Peanut.
